As you smile so bright and confuse me with the suns' light.
I remember what had been.
I forget the days that brought me tears,
But I remember the ones that brought me comfort.
I still remember the day you said you loved me.
It was a cloudy day, with a slight chance of hope in the air.
The rain drizzled softly on my skin as I held your hand.
Back then, I would have said your warmth from your touch could make me forget the rain and bring me somewhere peaceful and welcoming.
But now,
as I recall,
the rain felt much more friendlier and loving.
And like rain, our love didn't last.

The rain that day was a sign that it wouldn't last.
We really should have seen it coming,
And yet,
I now walk outside,
looking up to the sky. Hoping for a cloud or a sprinkle if I am lucky.
Just to feel that light drizzle,
to remember how warm and satisfying it was.
To remember how happy I was when you said you loved me.
Since the day we parted our separate ways,
and broke our promise of love.
Never,
has there been one cloud in the sky.
Just a sad little thing I thought of that woke me up, if I didn't write it now I would forget in the morning.
